The Ultimate Guide to Summer Skin Care: Keep Your Glow All Season Long

Summer brings sunshine, fun, and outdoor adventures—but it also means extra challenges for your skin. Heat, humidity, sweat, and increased sun exposure can lead to breakouts, dryness, irritation, and premature aging if you don’t adjust your skincare routine. Here’s how to keep your skin healthy, radiant, and protected during the hot summer months.

1.

  • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even when it’s cloudy or you’re mostly indoors.  Our DayCream does offer some sunscreen protection as we have added essential oils that offer protection from the sun.

  • Reapply every two hours, especially if you’re swimming or sweating.

  • Don’t forget often-missed spots: ears, neck, hands, feet, and lips (use a lip balm with SPF). We will be creating our own lipbalm soon.

  • Wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hats, and sunglasses for extra defense.

2.

  • Swap out heavy winter creams for lightweight, oil-free moisturizers or gel-based hydrators. Our Day Cream is perfect for summer.  The new moisturizer, OasisTouch (coming soon) is also great.  Our night cream is heavier, but since it's not oily, you can still use it at night, if you like.

  • Look for products with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, or glycerin. Our products are all very hydrating, made with all natural ingredients.

  • Layer a hydrating toner or facial mist to refresh and replenish moisture throughout the day. Many of our customers love our toner for this.

3.

  • Wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser to remove sweat, sunscreen, and excess oil. Our cleanser is very gentle, but super effective.

  • Avoid harsh soaps or over-cleansing, which can strip your skin and trigger more oil production.

  • After swimming, shower with a mild cleanser to remove chlorine or saltwater.

4.

  • Exfoliate once or twice a week with a gentle scrub or mask exfoliant to prevent clogged pores and dullness. Check out our exfoliators page.

  • Avoid exfoliating if you’re sunburned or your skin feels sensitive.

  • Over-exfoliation can cause irritation, so stick to a moderate routine. Ours are very gently though.  You will love the Peppermint Facial Scrub.

5.

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin plump and healthy.

  • Use a lightweight moisturizer right after showering to lock in moisture.

  • Consider hydrating face masks or serums for an extra boost.

6.

:

  • Use a lip balm with SPF to protect your lips from sunburn and dryness.

  • Apply soothing products with ingredients like aloe vera or cucumber to calm skin after sun exposure.

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing to reduce friction and irritation, especially in hot, humid weather.

7.

  • : Cleanse your skin to remove sweat and bacteria.

  • : Rinse off chlorine or saltwater promptly and moisturize.

  • : Bring travel-sized versions of your essentials and use facial mists to refresh on the go.

8.

  • Eat a balanced diet rich in antioxidants (vitamins C and E), healthy fats, and water-rich fruits and veggies to support your skin’s natural defenses.
